Our statewide network of Ambassadors share their own lived mental health experience to inform the public about mental health conditions, inspire recovery and hope, and engage in public policy advocacy.
Share Your Story
Ambassadors have the opportunity to share their stories and experience in a variety of ways, including sharing their story in written or video form to be shared on our website and social media channels, public speaking and through our podcast.
Be an Advocate
Ambassadors also have the opportunity to impact public policy and funding decisions that impact mental health through engagement in Mental Health Minnesota’s Lived Experience Action Network (LEAN). Ambassadors who participate in LEAN attend advocacy training, connect with their legislators and attend Mental Health Day on the Hill.
Promote Mental Health Awareness
Ambassadors can also help staff events to promote mental health awareness, as well as distribute information and materials about Mental Health Minnesota’s free and anonymous programs and services.
Provide Feedback and Information
Our ambassadors make also Mental Health Minnesota a stronger organization and a better advocacy organization by providing feedback on important issues, such as employment, prescription medication, the integration of physical health and mental health, and more.
